Hello Faithful Ones,
I am so happy to take a moment to sit down and have the refreshing
joy of sharing with you some of the amazing things God has been doing
in response to Faith Steps Ministries. It is as it seems to always
be, a busy walk of faith with our Lord. I seem to complete one time
of ministry and God just opens another almost before I complete the
one. His faithfulness to me has been so astounding and I am so
grateful to Him for his love and grace.
I had the best time hosting another gathering of women in August.
It was entitled, “A Celebration of Womanhood”. What a joy it was to
share that I had chosen that particular day to share in ministry
because it was the day of my healing six years prior. I had both an
afternoon event and an evening event. This has been helpful for those
who find that driving at night is a problem as well as some of the
younger women who have demands in the evening. This makes it possible
for some to attend that otherwise might not be able to do so. All
together I had 65 women attend that day. We had such a great time of
fellowship, and a lot of laughter together as I portrayed the various
stages of a woman’s life. As always we had a few good desserts - but
then if you have been before then you know, I can’t talk about that!!!
HaHa!
Just last weekend I led a women’s retreat for an area church. It
was held at Eastover and what a delight these dear ladies were as I
shared in their time together. Their church has been through
tremendous change over the last year and God just surrounded us with
His presence. Please pray for them as they faithfully seek our Lord’s
direction and their part in being within His will for their church.
I returned from the retreat on Sat. evening and then on Sunday I
began a very exciting class during our discipleship time at my church.
I have felt that God was speaking to me about the great host of women
that simply cannot commit to a Bible Study that requires a book,
homework, etc. I believed that there are women who would like to come
and be discipled and fed strictly from God’s word with no expectations
to complete activities or work. Some are already involved in weekday
Bible studies while others are not. So, I began a time of bringing a
weekly message just for women. Our first evening brought together
about 40 women. The blessing of this is that the weekly messages will
not build upon themselves from one week to the next so women can
attend as they are able. It also alllows a great opportunity to
invite others. Please pray for me as I seek the Lord prayfully myself
in preparing for this message each week.
On Monday I left to go to Richmond and took a side trip to see Tim
and Emalee in Farmville. I returned on Wednesday and have been busy
preparing for a new venture in Faith Steps. I have some exciting news
of an opportunity for a very small and intimate retreat that I am
hosting. Here’s the details:
WHERE?
Eastover Manor House On The James
(A recently remodeled 19th century plantation home located on a 2500
acre plantation)
The Manor Home is surrounded by lush, beautiful landscape. Adirondack
chairs line the cliff edge looking out on a spectacular view of the
James River. A path leads to a prayer garden where serene beauty of
the countryside welcomes you.
WHO?
I have reserved the entire home which can sleep 10 people. I have 8 available.
The first eight people who contact me and pay for their reservation
will complete the weekend retreat.
WHAT?
An all inclusive weekend retreat offering beautifully appointed
colonial bedrooms that sleep two to a bed. I have two rooms that have
a queen (two people) and a twin bed for one person. So for those who
want to sleep alone you must be the one of the first two to request a
twin bed. The retreat will include the following:
Lodging, Meals, an inspirational program, and times of solitude,
refreshing, and laughter. The retreat will begin Friday with lunch
(at your cost) Friday in Williamsburg where we will all meet
together. Anyone who cannot come that early will receive directions
how to get to Eastover. Following lunch we will ride the ferry across
the James River and check in at our plantation home. The cost of the
retreat covers all lodging, meals and programs from the point of
check-in to our check-out time on Sunday. We will again ride the
ferry together and anyone desiring to shop around Williamsburg
and have lunch together (at your cost) is invited to do so.
COST FOR THE RETREAT?
$110
WHEN?
Friday, October 11th - Sunday, October 13th

Please be in prayer for me as I undertake this bold new adventure
hosting this event. I am excited about the way the Lord opened the
door of opportunity. I had been praying for about six months feeling
God’s leading for me to plan a fall get-away event. When I went to
the Manor on the James to investigate the possibility there was only
this one weekend left open on their schedule! I knew I had found the
spot God wanted to use.
Another opportunity of ministry is coming up as well. I will be
hosting another gathering of women for the fall. Information is
listed below.

I will be going back to the Eastern Shore (Cape Charles) later
this month to complete interviews for the two articles that I am
currently writing for On Mission magazine. Please pray for safe
travel and that God will walk with me throughout the process; each
step of the way.
In the midst of all that I have shared, I am also again working on
the completion of my book. I still do not have leads that have opened
for the publishing of it but I continue and know that God has it all
planned and will unfold that plan as I go. Please pray for me to not
step away from Him or His guidance.
As for our family, I am so happy to say that Ray and I are
continuing to go to Weight Watchers and I have lost 25 lbs. and he has
lost 50! I am happy to say that Ray no longer needs his cholesterol
medication - his cholesterol dropped by 100 points! Our daughter
Kimberly is doing well after getting in with my cardiologist. She is
on medication and no longer having the episodes that she was
experiencing. Tim and Emalee are doing well. Emalee had gall bladder
surgery but is recovering and back at school teaching. Tim is taking
classes for his masters through an online program at Va. Tech.
Emalee also continues to work on her masters. They have joined the
choir at their church and are even doing nursery duty! Jonathan is
back in school at Boyce Bible College. He loves being back in school
and seems to be doing well. He is back working at Ruby Tuesday
serving there. Thank you for all your support and for your prayers.
Please allow me the privilege of praying for you should you have needs
arise.
I hope to get to see you at a Faith Steps event!
What an amazing God we have!
Blessings in Ministry,
Pat
